2016 Chicago Decathlon

DB Logo

This summer I competed in Decathlon Chiago. This was the events inagural year in Chicago in effors to raise money for pediatric cancer research at Rush University Medical Center.
The event is comprised of 10 athletic tests (a mix of running, lifting and agility drills) to see who is the best “professional/athlete” in Chicago.
The event was fantastic. Our team raised nearly $8,638, which made up a significant portion of the over $115,000 raised by the event.
The team at Rush University Children’s hospital could not have been more pleased – they are working to fund a new, six room facility for pediatric chemotherapy.
Our athletic performance notched our team 2nd place in the team event. Individually I ranked 3rd amongst all the athletes. Next year we’ll be striving for 1st again!
